Young Scientists Look for Lichens

An outdoor exploration program for kids ages 7-11 and their adult.

Kids, bring your adult with you for a morning of hands-on outdoor exploration. You’ll head out on a scavenger hunt for strange organisms called lichens among the park’s rocks and trees. Then, use a microscope to get a better look. Before you go home, you’ll get tips on how you can continue the outdoor adventure in your own backyard and even share what you find with others.

This program is best for ages 7-11, but older or younger siblings are welcome to follow along. Children must be accompanied
