St. Croix National Scenic Riverway was established in 1968 as a unit of the National Park Service and expanded in 1972 to include the River below Highway 8. The Riverway’s focus is on preserving the natural environment that supports the St. Croix River, which provides habitat for wildlife and recreational opportunities. In addition to providing recreational access the Riverway presents activites to educate and enhance appreciation of the St. Croix River, it’s place in history, and the natural world of which it is a part. The Riverway Headquarters and St. Croix River Visitor Center is at 401 Hamilton St in St. Croix Falls, WI. The Riverway has a website: www.nps.gov/sacn and a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/StCroixNationalScenicRiverway. Please join us in protecting and celebrating the St. Croix River.
