The Washington County Historic Courthouse welcomes local, national, and international visitors for meetings, exhibits, free guided tours, performances, private and public events. The building stands high on the bluffs, overlooking downtown Stillwater and the St. Croix River Valley. The Greek Revival buildng features Italianate influences and is visible from throughout the valley.

The Historic Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is an important cultural, economic and historical resource for the St. Croix Valley. Charles Nelson, former state architect noted that “The Historic Courthouse is considered one of the best examples of adaptive re-use of an historic site in the Midwest.”
