Willamette Wine Revisited: Not all Pinot (but we promise some!)

Oregon’s Willamette Valley is a trove for spectacular Pinot Noir that exhibit nuanced differences from one place to another depending on soils, winemaking philosophy, and clone. But this isn’t all the Willamette has to offer. From coastal, crisp whites, to barrel-aged chardonnays and funky natural wines, this region has a whole other side so many of us miss!

We want to take you through the history, geography, and geology of the wondrous Willamette Valley and explore how place impacts Pinot with a few classics we love from 3 different parts of the valley. We will also taste you on a few other major grapes (and a couple oddballs) from producers who are shaking up the image we have of this area as consumers begin to learn of this region’s next frontier for wine. Willamette is so much more than Pinot (even if we love them!) — they are home to so much diversity, creativity, and collaboration.
