SciGirls Tree-rific Trees! is a girl-focused, boy-friendly environmental science workshop for youth scientists ages 6-12. Get ready to have a tree-rific time exploring the nature around your libraries!
This 90-minute activity, facilitated by trained SciGirls staff, will give participants a chance to learn about the nature in and around their neighborhoods using engaging, hands-on activities. Youth will identify the parts of a tree and then put their knowledge into action on a tree walk around the library. Attendees will also discuss the important roles trees play in food webs and finish by creating a piece of tree art that they can bring home!
Contact the library for class registration.
This workshop is offered as part of ArtReach St. Croix’s NEA Big Read in the St. Croix Valley. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. In April 2020, we are encouraging everyone to read LAB GIRL, by Hope Jahren and join St. Croix Valley neighbors in a month of programs and activities related to themes found in the book.
