Stillwater Public Library is pleased to present “Cultivate”, an exhibit by artist Kate Gomez. Kate uses acrylic paint, fabrics, and textural mediums on canvas. As a visual learner, Kate has always connected with diagrams and illustrations. As a child, she would comb through encyclopedias and fixate on transparent overlays of things like the human body, plant structures or the anatomy of a frog. She is still drawn to this type of imagery today. Her paintings are constructed in a similar way, often showing multiple views of a single idea. The exhibit will be on display in the gallery during March and April. Meet Kate at a reception scheduled for Sunday, April 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
