Project 30.1 Community Mural

Project 30.1 Community Mural

Presented by The Phipps Center for the Arts at The Phipps Center for the Arts

People of all ages are invited to participate in a free outdoor drop-in activity on Saturday, September 12 and Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the north end of The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin, on Vine Street between 1st and 2nd Streets. All materials will be provided for participants to paint faces on pieces of plywood that will be incorporated into a multi-panel mural to be installed near the corner of 2nd and Vine Streets in downtown Hudson. Participants can either paint during the activity hours or pick up the materials during those times and paint at home. Instructions will be provided for delivering finished pieces to The Phipps.

The mural will be a visual reminder of the active and ongoing commitment by the people of our community to the ideals of racial equality and social justice, and the Project will be a celebration of inclusivity and diversity. Each person that participates will receive a ceramic heart created by Heaven’s to Betsy, a local inclusive non-profit, as a thank you for your commitment!

Project lead Liz Malanaphy will facilitate the face painting activities with help from The Phipps Center for the Arts. Additional project partners include Sustain Hudson and the Hudson Inclusion Alliance.
