Children ages 10 and under are encouraged to create artwork to display in the park based on the theme “What Does Nature Mean to You?” Parks staff will be collecting the artwork September 14-28 and it will be installed at Lake Elmo Park Reserve along the Northern Lights (yellow) trail on Wednesday, September 30.

After the installation, families are welcome to visit Lake Elmo Park Reserve to enjoy a hike on the trail and enjoy all of the beautiful artwork!

The gallery will end on Wednesday, October 14.
How to Enter

Draw, color, or paint an 8 x 10 picture using the theme “What Does Nature Mean to You?” as inspiration.
Artwork cannot be 3-dimensional or made of material other than paper. Parks staff will laminate the artwork to protect it from the elements and frame it for installation.
Children ages 10 and under
On a separate piece of paper, please include the child’s first name and last initial (Sara A.), age, title of the picture, and a short 2-3 sentence description of the picture (optional), along with a parent’s name, phone number, and e-mail address.
Mail or deliver artwork to the Washington County Historic Courthouse.
The deadline for submission is Monday, September 28.
Parents will be notified if their child’s artwork is chosen to be displayed.
The gallery will be on display Wednesday, September 30 – Wednesday, October 14.
Up to 20 pictures will be selected for display based on color, theme, and creativity.
Given the nature of the gallery, the artwork is not able to be returned after the gallery ends.
