Join ArtReach St. Croix this summer for the reintroduction of the Cli-Fi Book Club. Open to all.
Have you cracked open a cli-fi book or two since 2016 when ArtReach originally hosted the Cli-Fi Book Club as part of the NEA Big Read? (It’s okay if you didn’t!) Whether you are an avid cli-fi reader or this is your first book, you are welcome to join us to fully imagine the ways that life can be altered by climate change using contemporary fiction as our guide.
Our monthly book discussions will begin with Parable of the Sower, an acclaimed post-apocalyptic novel by legendary, award winning author Octavia E. Butler.
When global climate change and economic crises lead to social chaos in the early 2020s, California becomes full or dangers, from pervasive water shortage to masses of vagabonds who will do anything to live to see another day.
The Cli-Fi Book Club will meet on the ArtReach lawn (weather permitting) so be sure to bring a chair or blanket.
FREE and Open to the public
