Quiet your mind, relax and connect with the outdoors as you use watercolor pencils on paper to focus on nature’s smaller details.
This class is for anyone looking to try something new, increase their mindfulness, relax and connect to the outdoors. You’ll use watercolor pencils on paper to discover the beauty in some of the park’s smaller details. Think lichens, mosses, spring wildflowers, or whatever inspires you.
The group will meet, chat and test-out watercolor pencils before stepping onto short trails and putting details onto paper. The aim of this class is not to produce frameable art, but to become absorbed in the smaller details of nature while quieting the mind and sparking your creativity. The process is more important than the product. More time will be spent experimenting with materials than on instruction. All materials will be provided for the day. Space is limited to twelve, please email the naturalist at jenni.webster@state.mn.us to reserve a spot in this free class.
This class will take place entirely outdoors.
Pre-registration is required for this class. Email jenni.webster@state.mn.us to reserve your spot. The class is free, but a Minnesota state park vehicle permit is required on vehicles. These can be purchased at the park office for $7 for a one-day permit or $35 for a twelve-month permit.
