Join us for a one-time showing of local film-maker Mike Wurm’s film about our beloved Kinnickinnic River!
On Saturday, September 10th Kinni Corridor Collaborative and Kinnickinnic River Land Trust are excited to announce a one-night showing of Stories From The Water, a short film by Mike Wurm celebrating the beauty of the Kinnickinnic River and River Falls Community!
Stories From The Water doesn’t fit into a tidy film category. It attempts to capture the rich history and personal importance of the Kinnickinnic River. Told through the voices of five kids from River Falls, it includes the stories of residents and scratches the surface of conservation, wetlands, prairie, winter on the river & the soul of the fly fisherman. Stories From The Water survived and evolved through the pandemic. It provided a safe place for an old guy, Mike Wurm & his dog Arya – “Every encounter with that river seemed to say come and learn more. As if every changing meander became a personal friend.” The film reminds you to stop, feel the river’s current and be the water for just that moment.
