All are welcome! Move together to promote unity and peace at World Tai Chi Day-Stillwater. We’ll also collect donations for earthquake relief in Turkey and Syria. Last year’s event raised more than $2,200 for humanitarian relief and medical supplies in Ukraine. While that need continues, the situation in Turkey and Syria is more urgent.

Led by Stillwater-based Healing Within Acupuncture owner Aimee Van Ostrand, all donations at this annual outdoor gathering will go to the Turkish American Society of Minnesota (TASMN.org).

Now in its eighth year, World Tai Chi Day-Stillwater began with Van Ostrand and fellow tai chi instructor John Kerschbaum, owner of Gondola Romantica, with just a few regular students in Pioneer Park. Now with dozens of participants led by several area tai chi instructors from Minnesota and Wisconsin, the Stillwater event joins several hundred cities and spans more than 80 nations. The practice starts at 10am in each time zone, providing a continuous global wave of unified movement and breath on the last Saturday in April. The Stillwater event will include various styles of tai chi, including the extended energy cane and staff forms as well as the beautiful fan form.

Anyone is welcome to join in the group practice at 10am on Saturday, April 29, on the grounds of River Siren Brewing Co. in Stillwater. No tai chi experience is necessary to participate in this free, family-friendly event.
