Seeing Minnesota History Through the Life of Charles A. Lindbergh

Join Prof. Chris Gehrz, author of a new biography of Charles A. Lindbergh, as he uses the life story of a particularly famous Minnesotan to shed light on important themes in the state’s history, including the frontier, religion, eugenics, isolationism, and environmental protection.

Chris Gehrz (PhD, Yale) is professor of history at Bethel University, where he teaches courses on modern European, military/diplomatic, religious, and sports history. He is the author or editor of five books, including Charles Lindbergh: A Religious Biography of America’s Most Infamous Pilot (Eerdmans, 2021), and writes weekly about history, religion, and education at Substack. A native of Stillwater, Chris now lives in Roseville with his wife and two children.
